Genelia D'Souza















Genelia D'Souza, though new name in Bollywood cinema but better known as Harini among South Indian audience as there are many Telgu and Tamil hits to her credit. And she was also awarded with Telgu actress award for filmfare 2006 for movie Bommarillu. She was born on August 5, 1987 in Mumbai. Her parents hailed from Goa and for a shorter period they moved to England but sooner returned back to India. Since her childhood, she was keenly interested in an acting career.

Genelia DSouza did her schooling from Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra, Mumbai, afterwards schooling; she completed her graduation from St. Andrews College. Soon after completing her graduation, she started her film career in 2003 in Tamil movie Boys directed by Shankar, that was a hit and later dubbed into Telgu. Presently, she has more than 12 Indian movies prominently from south to her credit.

The hit of Boys started a spate of successful Tollywood movies in which she acted as she decided to concentrate more on South Indian movies rather than the Bollywood ones. After Boys Genelia DSouza acted successfully in Satyam, Samba and Sye. In 2004, she acted in Hindi hit Masti co-starring Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Ritesh Deshmukh.

In years 2005, 2006 and 2007 she devoted herself completely, towards, South Indian Movies. But the year 2008, is known for her return in mainstream Bollywood cinema. This year, there are many hindi films to her credit like Mere Baap Pehele Aap, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (In this movie, she is acting opposite to Amir Khan’s nephew Imran Khan), It’s My Life and Life Partner. She sheer on her acting talent and some calculative steps has fared well in Indian film industry and would be a coming star of futur
