Nina was born on 24th April in Mumbai. After completing her schooling in Kuwait, Bahrain and Trivandrum, she came back to Mumbai to complete her graduation in commerce. She was on her way to becoming a lawyer (she finished two years in Law College) when her mother saw an ad in the newspaper for the Femina Look of the Year contest in 1995. Her mother encouraged her to participate and so she did. She didn't win eventually but did get spotted by Mehr Jessia.Taking on from there, she never looked back. She kicked off with a show for Ensemble, the haute couture store, and got picked up by India's top designers. "I never really had to struggle and I have never planned anything in my life, I just take each day as it comes," says the confident girl.Initially, Nina did a lot of ramp shows and modeled for brands like San Miguel, Lawman jeans, Bausch & Lomb, Levi's, Coke, Indian Express and Kodak. She has also done music videos with Baba Sehgal, Remo and Anaida but ramp modeling remains her personal favorite. Being on the ramp gives her the ultimate high and it's a great feeling. Out of the Indian designers, her favourites are Rahul Khanna Rohit Gandhi, Rohit Bal, Reena Dhaka, Tarun Tahiliani, Hemant Trivedi and Wendell Rodricks. She had been pretty hot with people while hosting Channel V’s "Late Night V".In her free time, Nina likes hanging around with her friends, going for drives and movies. She loves to listen to music made by the kinds of Mobey, Vienna Scientist, Café Del-A-Mar, Tricky and Basement Jacks. Relationships are very important for her and she says that the person she loves should love her for who she is and not for whom they want her to be. Who is her ideal man then? "The mind interests me more than the body... I´m not hell bent on men with muscles. It isn't a necessity, but yes I wouldn't date this really huge, fat guy," she chuckles.She counts computers, TV, reading and exercising amongst her hobbies. A net savvy person, Nina likes leisure surfing and chatting with friends. On the fitness front, she confesses that she is not too regular with her exercise regime but does weights to tone her body and keep her fit. She doesn't diet at all and eats "everything", as she is a food person. Thankfully, she doesn't have a sweet tooth so she doesn't have to worry about putting on weight.Nina loves to travel and her future plans will constitute anything that will enable her to travel extensively. She is open to film offers too if any good project comes her way.
